Concept made for future RPG campaign I want to DM in the future, which takes place in the Eastern fantasy world. Each of the basic races has a background inspired by some Asian culture - more precisely South, Southeast and Far East - and all have birds like mounts.

Humans are part of an extremely militarized empire - inspired by medieval and ancient Chinese cultures - which disputes influence with the Orcish shogunates and the elven kingdoms, exerting their power primarily on the halflings settlements. Storks are the human mounts, not being able to fly like their smaller cousins, just gliding over short distances.
